QUEEN’S AVENUE ROAD CLOSURES 7th MAY – 10th MAY 2024

PARKING TO BE SUSPENDED ON PENNEFATHER’S ROAD
From Tuesday 7th May 2024 to Friday 10th May 2024 we will be closing off Queen’s Avenue carriageway (day and night).
Our contractors, Hope and Clay, are carrying out extensive highway works around the junction of Alison’s Road and Queen’s Avenue to upgrade the existing carriageway and to introduce a shared use footway/cycleway facility. These works are due to be completed by the summer and we’d like to thank all our residents for their continued patience whilst the works take place.

The following will be in place during Queen’s Avenue full road closure:

  • Temporary diversion signs will be in place for vehicle traffic to use alternative routes via A323 Wellington Road and A325 Farnborough Road – please see on the below map.
  •  Access for pedestrians and cyclists will still be available via the footpaths on either side of Queen’s Avenue.
  • Access for vehicles to Cambridge School car park will be maintained via Steeles Road Junction from the south.
  • Access to St Andrew’s Garrison Church and Cathedral Church of St Michael & St George will be maintained via Queen’s Avenue from the North Camp.
  • Access on Alison’s Road will be maintained via temporary two-way traffic lights system.

We appreciate that there was some confusion regarding the bus routes on the last closure and we apologise for the inconvenience caused, we are working with Stagecoach to ensure that this does not happen again and that their services can continue to operate. As with previous closures, the bus stops currently outside Aldershot Centre for Health on Queen’s Avenue are being moved to Pennefather’s Road. We will be suspending all parking along Pennefather’s Road from Monday 6th May 2024 (pm) while these works take place to enable easy access for buses and emergency vehicles.

In the case of emergency during the works, please contact Hope & Clay on 07831811910.
