Wellesley sells next land parcel

We are delighted that Taylor Wimpey has acquired the latest phase at Grainger’s award winning Wellesley scheme in Aldershot. The FTSE 100 house builder has planning permission to build up to 450 new homes, showing the resilience of the development land market.

Paul McGowan, Director of Land at Grainger said:

“In partnership with the MOD, we’re helping to create a successful and balanced new community. Grainger is providing homes for the whole community, from affordable housing through to shared ownership and private rentals to sales. We’re delighted to welcome Taylor Wimpey on board”.

Jennie Daly, Taylor Wimpey Group Operations Director said:

“Taylor Wimpey continue to be very active in pursuing new land opportunities and we are very pleased to have secured the latest phases at Wellesley”.

Jasper Masters, Executive Director at CBRE, the vendor’s agent said:

“Having helped Grainger secure the Wellesley opportunity 10 years ago, to date CBRE have sold £120m of land to accommodate nearly half of the 3,850 new homes. It’s now established as one of the best performing strategic development sites in the UK attracting the top house builders”.

Chris Georganas, Senior Director at CBRE said:

“We’re currently seeing a strong appetite for well located, consented family housing sites across the Home Counties, as the Taylor Wimpey sale shows. House builders are attracted to Wellesley’s strong fundamentals – market leading house price growth and consistent sales rates, under the long term stewardship of Grainger”.
