Closure of junction of East Hope Grants Road and Queens Avenue
From Monday 11th January 2021 we will be closing the junction of East Hope Grants Road and Queens Avenue at Wellesley to enable our contractors to carry out works close to the junction.
During this time we will be asking residents who live east of Queens Avenue to use Hospital Road to access their homes. We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience.
We will also need to stop vehicles turning left out of West Hope Grants Road – only allowing them to turn right onto Queens Avenue.
Below is a plan showing the changes and diversion that will be in place. There will be traffic signals and signage in place and we are working with the Cambridge Primary School to make sure parents are aware of what is going on.
The closure and diversions will be in place for up to 8 weeks.
We apologise for the inconvenience that this will have on Wellesley residents and we will be working hard to try to complete the works as quickly as possible. If you do have any questions, please do get in touch with us.
Once complete the Queens Avenue works will see the continuation of the narrowing of the carriageway between Hope Grants Road junction and Steeles Road and setting back the footpath and cycle route within the trees. This will not only increase pedestrian and cyclist safety, it will also help to reduce vehicle speeds along Queens Avenue.
