Cambridge Military Hospital – progress update

Weston Homes Plc are making great progress on the first phase at their prestigious Cambridge Military Hospital development.

As well as new build properties, restoration is at the heart of Weston Homes. With an impressive catalogue of successful flagship conversion schemes such as Preston Hall in Kent and Mayfield Grange in East Sussex, they have considerable experience in the construction challenges faced with returning historic buildings back to their former glory.

The Cambridge Military Hospital development will consist of 140, two, three and four bedroom, semi-detached, detached, and terraced homes along with one, two and three bedroom apartments. The Jewel in the crown is the iconic Grade II listed Cambridge Military Hospital building. The hospital was originally built based on the design principles of Florence Nightingale, with grand rooms and tall windows, to deliver optimal light, air circulation and constant temperatures. The Weston Homes design and build team have been eager to honour the historical significance and features of the building whilst introducing cutting edge technology to allow the perfect synergy between new and old.

Weston Homes will be launching the first phase of the development in January 2021. The launch will see the completion of the full sales office complex and show apartment in the main building and a number of finished plots available to show prospective buyers. A huge amount of consideration has been given to the landscaping of the site to offer residents practical modern day living with private gardens and plenty of parking, but ensuring it is in-keeping with its historical past, including a heritage trail which will weave through the development to allow residents to delve into the town’s remarkable past.

Some of the most prestigious accommodation will be available within the first phase of the build, including the iconic clock tower apartment; the distinguishing central feature of the main building which has been lovingly restored into an incredible apartment that occupies the main clock tower and offers stunning and truly unique accommodation over 5 floors.

Regional Sales Director Dave Walker said, “I am extremely proud of the CMH development and the way it is progressing and look forward to welcoming visitors in January 2021.”
